Yesterday amidst the steady stream of disquieting headlines, an expectant mother made an announcement on Instagram. Amidst the public expressions of joy another not unimportant bit of related news hit the wire, namely the Spring 2017 advertising campaign for Ivy Park starring amongst others Selah Marley. Photographed by Zoë Ghertner and styled by Karen Langley, the campaign draws from the strength of its young and incredibly fit cast. In an accompanying 60-second film, voice over passages by the cast express the various feelings associated with athletic performance. Selah can be heard saying in relation to images of an open sky, “I feel safe and lost at the same time.” The tension within Selah’s sentiment perfectly encapsulates the poise and coiled energy at the heart of Beyoncé’s activewear clothing line.
