The Stooges had been disbanded in 1974 following the release of Raw Power (1973) and it wasn’t until a few years later in 1977 that Iggy Pop found sure footing as solo artist. With a little help from his pal David Bowie, The Idiot came out in March 1977 along with the record’s first single “Night Clubbing.” As antitheses go, this downtempo cult anthem is a banger, and just the very sort that could not improbably be heard in and around this story running in the pages of LOVE 17 featuring amongst others Binx. Titled “The Fan Club,” this story by photographer Drew Jarrett and stylist Steve Morriss celebrates nightlife, albeit in a manner only LOVE could do. Never mind disco balls and laser lights, Binx gives readers something far moodier, far sexier. The red polka dot dress by Moschino worn open to reveal a silk bra by La Perla is sure to inspire fanatical devotion, of which Binx is worthy, after all she’s what’s happening.
