NEW YORK — Hold your head up, movin’ on… . Although the words themselves were never voiced, their sentiment carried through the air Wednesday morning for the Michael Kors Collection Fall 2017 runway show at Spring Studios courtesy of a string arrangement by Thomas Roussel of the 1983 Eurythmics single. Last September, Rufus Wainwright crooned about springtime love. This season, however the full force of a string ensemble was brought to bear on a tune that is equal parts sensual and defiant, in other words, the Michael Kors woman! Walking out on the runway for the show, then were no fewer than 10 models at Next including Selena Forrest, Lineisy Montero, Lea Issarni, Grace Elizabeth, Arizona Muse, Karmen Pedaru, Lia Pavlova, Marjan Jonkman, Leila Goldkuhl, and Katlin Aas. Of these 10 beauties, no two girls are interchangeable, the reality of which put into sharp relief the designer’s commitment to an expansive notion of beauty in its various shades and sizes. Inclusive exclusivity? Sweet dreams are made of this… .
