LONDON — “Horizons are broadened,” began the program printed on A4 for the Topshop Unique Fall / Winter 2017 runway show Sunday afternoon at the Topshop Venue nestled deep inside the Tate Modern. “Topshop’s urban traveller moves onward.” Given last summer’s historic referendum in these parts on European Union membership, the statement strikes an optimistic, if not willfully oblivious tone to current geopolitical forces. But that’s all part of another discussion that will necessarily take a backseat to this runway show that featured seven models from across the Next network including Myrthe Bolt, Alanna Arrington, Aiden Curtiss, Vera Van Erp, Lineisy Montero, Wangy, and Julie Hoomans. Readers of a certain age (ask your grandparents) might recognize the song used in for the runway finale, Orbital’s “Chime,” which was the British group’s first ever single released back in 1990.
