MILAN — Federico Fellini’s City of Women (1980) reportedly was a point of departure for Miuccia Prada’s Fall / Winter 2017 womenswear collection, albeit in title, not content. The youthful passion for cinema or more broadly the cinematic was realized in the Prada show space, which was decorated in a motif redolent of a late 1960s dorm room replete with posters and fliers, much of which were fictions themselves. The real show as ever was on the catwalk, ostrich feathers and all, worn by a half dozen models at Next including Lineisy Montero, Manuela Miloqui, Selena Forrest, Estella Brons, Nandy Nicodeme, and Nina Gulien, the latter two of whom were exclusives. For Lineisy, this was her eighth time walking for the house following her debut two years ago during the Fall / Winter 2015 season. For others, Estella Brons made her return a year on following her appearance in the Fall / Winter 2016 women’s show. Selena broke her Prada duck. And three shining new models in Manula, Nandy, and Nina were launched on this most vaunted of runways.
