PARIS — Blue is the color. It certainly was Friday afternoon at Musée Rodin, where Maria Grazia Chiuri turned out a women’s collection that was realized in the bluest of shades. The runway and surrounding gallery were also washed in monochrome blue, but all told this runway show was anything but a dour affair. Picasso had has period of blue at the around the turn of the last century, but Chiuri was up to something other than a one-note dirge. Denim figured throughout this collection as did leather caps by millinery maestro Stephen Jones. The combination of the two realized by the Dior atelier is something that is positively mouthwatering rather than numbingly blue. In her debut collection for the house last season, Chiuri did not shy away from incorporating the logo and the same was true for Fall 2017. Maria Grazia is of one mind and boasts a focus as concentrated as a blue flame, which she is surely using to propel Dior to ever greater heights. On the afternoon from across the Next global network 10 models took to the runway including Manuela Miloqui, Grace Hartzel, Selena Forrest, Nandy Nicodeme, Ania Chiz, Lineisy Montero, Binx, Maria Clara, Moira Berntz, and Lia Pavlova. Of the models, Grace had the Dior exclusive.
