Denim has been around for a minute. The fabric itself dates back to the nineteenth century and due to its durability and versatility has never really gone out of use. Calvin Klein pioneered the designer denim market as we know it back in 1978 with the launch of Calvin Klein Jeans, the business of which became a central pillar in the Calvin Klein empire. The Spring 2017 advertising campaign for Calvin Klein Jeans starring amongst others Selena Forrest hearkens back the denim label’s storied roots. Photographed by Willy Vanderperre and styled by Olivier Rizzo, the campaign embodies the refreshing new vision of Calvin Klein’s chief creative officer Raf Simons. Superfluities are dispensed for this campaign thereby allowing the fashion to come to the fore. Selena for her part is no nonsense and puts forward an unforgettable face for an otherwise iconic label.
