Timelessness. If you have any, bottle it, after all it could spoil. Every issue of the French biannual Double does its ample best to achieve timelessness by going after what its editors love and admire, past and present. “We always try to mix energy that cannot disappear according to us and that could fit with the most relevant from today,” says the magazine’s creative director Fabrice Paineau. This spirit is very much alive in a fashion editorial by photographer Roe Ethridge and stylist Marie Chaix running in the Spring / Summer 2017 issue, which features amongst others Caitie Greene and Lineisy Montero. Caitie opens the story and is shown (pictured) wearing a flower printed top from Demna Gvasalia’s Balenciaga Spring 2017 collection. If that top looks familiar, then it’s because Jane Moseley wore it on the runway last October. Backward, forward, Double is has a knack for achieving a timeless X ∩ Y.
