Although reckless nights in Tokyo have their place, there are other attractions in Japan that are equally worthy. The May 2017 issue of Harper’s Bazaar Germany highlights one such attraction to the south of Tokyo in Kanagawa Prefecture in a story featuring none other than Ali Michael photographed by Sofia Sanchez and Mauro Mongiello. Fukuzumiro is a wooden building in Hakone that was built over 125 years ago and today is considered cultural property of Japan. The guesthouse or ryokan (旅館) as it is called in Japanese provides a fitting backdrop for this story, which celebrates this season’s modern interpretations of the kimono and other easterly stylings. Ali for her part relishes the occasion and provides a moment of zen (pictured) where she kneels leaning over low table wearing a dress in ivory by Loewe. Sensual, alluring, this story is Ali Michael through and through.
