NEW YORK —  Jessica Miller goes way back with Inez & Vinoodh. The beloved photography duo began shooting a then 17-year-old model in the early 2000s. Over the years Jessica became something of a muse for them shooting covers of Vogue Paris, Numéro, V, and more. She recently shot Document with them as well. “They’re kind of like a super cool, awesome aunt and uncle who just happen to be the most amazing artists on the planet,” says Jessica. To this day their relationship endures, which is a testament not only to Jessica’s timeless beauty, but equally her character. Jessica is genuine in an industry that has its fair share of flimsy figures, which bodes well for sustaining a career with any sort of longevity like she has enjoyed herself.

Anyone who follows Jessica on Instagram will know she is passionate about animal rights and music. She first attempted going vegetarian years ago and received mixed results. Jessica nevertheless stuck with it and now embraces a vegan lifestyle that she’s determined to make work. One day Jessica would like to open an animal sanctuary. As for the music…it is no accident that she is married to Metallica’s Lars Ulrich, who is arguably one of the greatest living drummers today. Jessica in fact travels a fair bit with Lars when he is on the road, which is what brought her to New York over the last week. Jessica’s top three Metallica songs are “Blackened,” “Leper Messiah,” and “Disposable Heroes,” which ought to disabuse any Metal Militia diehards that she’s just a pretty face. As if!
