Lana Del Rey is in a category all her own. Truth be told, historical comparisons are about the only viable path for saying anyone’s name in the same breath as Lana herself. Stephen Gan knows as much, which is why the editor-in-chief of V brought together none other than Stevie Nicks and Lana Del Rey for the forthcoming issue of V108. The cover by photographer Steven Klein and stylist Robbie Spencer broke today, which announces the inside cover story that is a transcript between these two greats. “They both have this romantic quality, and they are both ethereal and fairy-like, and their music is similar in the way that it is sort of a slow burn,” Gan said speaking with WWD. Not surprisingly the two hit it off, building on the rapport struck up over working on the song off the new record called “Beautiful People, Beautiful Problems.” As Nicks puts it, “We are witchy sisters and that’s it.”
