PARIS — Sunday also occasioned another French debut for a newly transplanted American duo, namely Kate and Laura Mulleavy, who wowed all assembled with their Spring / Summer 2018 Rodarte collection. Officially guests on the couture calendar for July, this ready-to-wear collection was not out-of-place in any sense of the term. The collection was every bit at home on this esteemed calendar, not to mention the 17th century Port-Royal Abbey. The runway wrapped around three sides of the abbey’s leafy courtyard, which was decked out with an off-kilter floral and fluorescent light installation. This patch of green was also the finale site for an evocative tableau in which the models stood in the late afternoon sun for audience to freely snap away with their smartphones. As for the collection, essence of spring, dreamlike, flowers blowing at slow motion in the breeze. On the afternoon a half dozen models from across the Next network including Moira Berntz, Wangy, Lia Pavlova, Maria Clara, Nandy Nicodeme, and Manuela Miloqui.
