As the luster of New York continues to diminish, Raf Simons has been a consistent bright spot since taking the creative helm at Calvin Klein. Never mind who is leaving because there is one immutable part of Midtown that is staying put, namely the 195,000-square-foot Calvin Klein headquarters at 205 West 39 Street. That storied address is behind the name of the collection formerly known as Calvin Klein Collection. Today the Calvin Klein 205W39NYC global advertising campaign for Fall 2017 photographed by Willy Vanderperre was unveiled and features a quartet of models at Next including Leila Goldkuhl (pictured), Selena Forrest, Tessa Bruinsma, and Wangy. Shot in the Mojave Desert in California, the campaign includes a billboard from the Calvin Klein: American Classics campaign in the background, which highlights the tension between art and artifice. This self reference also accentuates the brand’s global reach, which for this campaign reportedly aims to reach 850 million impressions across 22 global markets. Let the world go where it will, Raf Simons and co are holding it down in Gotham.
