The color red is nature’s warning. There are a variety of reasons for this, not least of which concerns the hue’s ability to stand out from, say, a leafy green background. Red also can add emphasis to already extraordinary subjects. Take for example the fashion feature running in V109 that includes none other than Nisaa Pouncey photographed by Max Papendieck. Nisaa might be new to this page, but her commanding presence in this issue belies the relative youth of her career. Nisaa is pictured in black and white against a red background, which brings a graphic composition to the page, thereby elevating the subject to her rightful station. There is much to come from Nisaa, just peep the signs.
