Binx and Céline go back, way back. Over the weekend her latest commercial involvement with Phoebe Philo broke when the Spring 2018 advertising campaign by Juergen Teller made its way to Instagram. This is the third such campaign of Binx’s for Céline and somehow it just seems fitting. Last Friday Vogue rightly praised Binx for her outstanding modeling career, which she has cultivated outside of the wildly transformative digital platform that is Instagram. That in and of itself is an achievement, if not welcome anachronism. “I’m just hoping through my journey others will see that not everyone has a famous mommy or daddy and 1 million followers,” Binx says speaking with Vogue. “Not everyone comes from middle-class families. That, for especially ones growing up in inner cities or poverty-stricken areas, where there is a will there is a way.” Wisdom like this is not typically trafficked in fashion, let alone society, which makes it all the more refreshing. Then again, whether she is giving a rare interview with an august publication or starring in another Céline campaign, Binx is never not refreshing.
