Where there is Abbey Lee, there is life. This statement rings true whether she’s starring in a Hollywood thriller, a high fashion editorial, or simply on set in her Calvins for Instagram. The forthcoming issue of V includes a two-page spread by photographers Inez & Vinoodh in which she talks about acting and life of late. Although she has little in the way of formal training, Abbey Lee has fully immersed herself in her new craft. “I find it fascinating what acting can expose about yourself, your capabilities and limits, your relationship to your surrounding environment, and your emotional instability.” Abbey Lee has proven remarkably adaptable over the last two years working in a variety projects from Danish filmmaker Nicolas Refn’s Neon Demon (2016) to the Stephen King adaptation The Dark Tower (2017) also starring Matthew McConaughey and Idris Elba. Her forthcoming film Elizabeth Harvest (2018), directed by Sebastian Gutierrez, sounds like it could be her most challenging, however. Not only will she play the lead, but she will perform four different clones of the central character. If anyone can do it, then Abbey Lee can.
