“The energy of youth is appealing to me as a fortysomething,” said Kris Van Assche speaking with Vogue in June. The Dior Homme creative director offered his thoughts on the occasion of his Spring 2018 runway show, which hewed younger in terms of casting. This through line follows into Van Assche’s Black Carpet Spring 2018 capsule collection, the advertising campaign for which broke this week and features ever youthful Callum Stoddart. Photographed by Patrick Demarchelier, the campaign eschews celebrity of its predecessor. Gone is Robert Pattinson, making way for Callum, who is pictured in luscious black and white wearing black tie. There is a bit of the late Prince about Callum, which as a budding musician himself is surely no accident. Youthful, energetic, this campaign and its subject has life yet.
