As long as the creative director merry-go-round continues spinning, so too will attendant speculation. Recent announcements including Hedi Slimane to Céline seem only to whet appetites for more. The March 2018 issue of British Vogue, however takes a different tack with a story starring Binx. Photographed by Theo Sion and styled by Poppy Kain, the story appraises the offerings of three labels that have newly appointed designers: Givenchy, Helmut Lang, and Jil Sander. “Givenchy stands for a powerful woman,” says Givenchy’s artistic director Clare Waight Keller. Enter Binx (pictured), strong woman if ever there was one, who takes flight wearing a crepe-de-chine dress, suede and snakeskin boots, and twirling a snakeskin and leather bag, all by Givenchy. To think this is only the third issue of editor-in-chief Edward Enninful’s tenure offers something genuine in a world of so many unknowns.
