NEW YORK — Carolina Herrera took her bow Monday night under the lights at the Museum of Modern Art. Her collection for Fall 2018, then comes as a swan song following nearly 40 year since the label’s founding. Wes Gordon has been working alongside Herrera for over a year now and will succeed as the label’s creative director. Staging the show at MoMA was an inspired gesture and points toward a future in which posterity is tempered with modernity. This particular occasion, though also made for a proper send off for such a revered figure in American fashion. On the night a half dozen models from across the Next global network including Oumie Jammeh, Lineisy Montero, Grace Elizabeth, Lucia Lopez, Hiandra Martinez, and Marjan Jonkman featured on the runway.
