LONDON — At the intersection of Bauhaus and Victoriana there is a spectacle, perhaps an auto wreck. Mary Katrantzou all but donned a high vis traffic warden jacket early Sunday evening at King’s Cross to ensure there would be no undue fatalities in this most unlikely of mashups for her latest “Interior Lives” collection for Fall / Winter 2018. The synthesis between this odd bedfellows happened inside where furniture, rugs, even lampshades dominate. Look closely and there are tassels dangling from intricately patterned fabrics that in another era would cover walls or the chaise lounge in the drawing room. As with any collection by Mary Katrantzou there is a lot of theory front loaded into it, but the results are always vivid, never abstract. On the night Rocio Marconi, Estella Brons, Manu Miloqui, and Tessa Bruinsma featured in the lineup.
