PARIS — Print is not dead. Certainly was not Friday morning at UNESCO for Jonathan Anderson’s Loewe women’s Fall / Winter 2018 runway show. Invited guests were gifted one of five classics newly published by the Spanish luxury fashion house, all of which feature dust jackets photographed by Steven Meisel. Contrary to the widely accepted aphorism, these are titles best judged by their covers. As for the collection, it was mindful and centering, not unlike a good book on a wet and wintry day in the French capital. This was a show with which to begin and end the day, thereby avoiding any silly business that might follow. Walking in the lineup from Next were five girls including Léa Issarni, Shujing Zhou, Oumie Jammeh, Manu Miloqui, and Eniola Abioro. Print lives, then, and so does the hashtag #taketimetoread.
