PARIS — Butterfly wings and beetle backs might have provided Sarah Burton much of the impetus for her women’s Fall / Winter 2018 Alexander McQueen collection, but it was Binx Walton who sent the kaleidoscope spinning by opening the show Monday night. Wearing a sharply tailored wool suit and a long, thin single braid down her back, Binx might well have been an assassin in any other circumstance more treacherous. As it was, though the occasion was but another opportunity for Binx to flex in a week that saw her also close Chloé. That she can lead a lineup with some of the industry’s most celebrated faces speaks volumes and also underscores Burton’s forward thinking. This is after all a ready-to-wear house that season after season brushes ever closer to couture and yet is sufficiently streetwise to produce a supremely salable McQueen trainer that has reached near ubiquity.  Joining Binx on the runway from across the Next global network were a trio of models that included Lineisy Montero, Guinevere Van Seenus, and Wangy.
