Back in February of this year, mere weeks ago, Dua Lipa surpassed a billion views on YouTube. Ever since then billion has followed her throughout the headlines including the cover of the May 2018 issue of British GQ. “One billion people can’t be wrong,” proclaims the cover, and although views are technically not people, this page will not begrudge the sentiment. Dua is working on another album, which will no doubt add even more views to her already billion. About the album Dua says in her interview with GQ, “It’s very much dance crying. It is a pop album that you’re going to be able to dance to, but a lot of the songs are sad. They’re about heartbreak and they’re about going through some emotional manipulation. It kind of sucks that that’s the thing that triggers my creativity, but happy things don’t seem to do it for me.” The May issue with its cover by photographer Mariano Vivanco will reach newsstands in a week, Thursday, 5 April.
