This week it was reported in The Financial Times that inflation in Thailand rose by more than one percent for the first time in a year. What that means for an economy controlled by an unelected government is best left to FT for analysis. Aside from economics, there is much concerning this Southeast Asian nation to be discussed, namely the May 2018 issue of Vogue Thailand featuring on its cover none other than Grace Hartzel. Although neutral tones comprise the color palette for the cover and its corresponding story, there is plenty of fire that Grace herself brings to the occasion. Perhaps it is Grace’s hair, that devilishly seductive fringe that gives this story an edge. Or maybe it is the general disarray of the interior renovation with its cracked plaster and tarpaulins used as a backdrop. Then again, it is probably all of the above that make such a compelling showcase from the best neutral looks from Gucci (pictured), Balenciaga, Saint Laurent, and more. How Q2 shakes out for Thailand’s economy is anyone’s guess, but at least Grace Hartzel has Vogue looking flush.
