NEW YORK — The hemorrhaging of designers in recent seasons abated albeit temporarily Friday night when Prada hosted its Resort 2019 runway show at the historic Piano Factory in Hell’s Kitchen. This one-off occasion, the first of its sort for Prada, allowed the house to flex at the Prada USA headquarters at 609 West 52 Street. Designed by Herzog & de Meuron, the former piano factory proved a most fitting sitting, denuded of superfluities to the Prada universe. Fantasy and reality reportedly were the controlling themes for this collection, which in practice meant strong ideas tailored to simple skirts, trousers, and outsize aviator hats. The whole affair was edifying, particularly for once proud fashion city. On the evening a half dozen models from across the network featured on the runway including Binx Walton, Anok Yai, Lineisy Montero, Hedvig Palm, Denya Altevers, and Selena Forrest.
