“Studies show people overestimate the amount of happiness things will bring them and underestimate the longterm positive effect of experiences,” says Scott Galloway of L2. “In sum, drive a Hyundai and take your family to Africa.” This weekend’s issue of T Magazine goes a long way toward achieving the latter with a cover story photographed by Colin Dodgson in Marrakesh starring Karolin Wolter. Titled “I Dreamed of Africa,” the Suzanne Koller styled story is one part meditation on Edith Wharton’s 1920 travelogue In Morocco, one part celebration of this season’s most sumptuous shades of camel, cream, and khaki. To that end, the otherworldly Karolin (pictured) high steps in the open air of the Sahara wearing a Salvatore Ferragamo cape, hood, sweater, and shoes. The exquisite styling carries through the entire story and reaches that sweet spot of happiness derived from things and experiences.
