In this grand charade of constantly rearranging wood and canvas furniture atop the decks of a sinking ocean liner it is not difficult to take a dim view of the future. There is climate change, endless war, and global surveillance, why bother going outside? If there is any silver lining to this grim state, then it has to be youth. The latest volume of W celebrates some of the more glimmering spots of this very generation, not least of which includes Massima Desire. In a feature photographed by Harley Weir and styled by Katie Grand, Massima is made to shine. Not one to “politicize” her identity, Massima lets her work speak for itself, which lately can be seen all over the Instagram of Marc Jacobs. It is all going south, but thanks to Massima and her generation it will be one hell of a ride.
