This just in, sorta, France is in the World Cup final along with Croatia, a country which has a population less than half the size of London. Football, bloody etc and so on. Back to France, however, specifically the house Dior and its Fall / Winter 2018 advertising campaign starring Lineisy Montero. Photographed in Paris by Pamela Hanson, the campaign extends the very spirit of 1968 theme established in the corresponding runway show back in February of this year. Social upheaval, women’s rights, civil unrest, these were part of the slate of themes expressed in the idiom of faded placards and magazine tear sheets from a half century ago. Dior artistic director Maria Grazia Chiuri has reinterpreted these themes for today in her autumn collection, which Lineisy transmits with utmost fidelity. Lineisy has walked in countless Dior runway shows dating back to her debut in 2015, but this is her first advertising appearance for the maison.
