A lot happened over the weekend, not least of which involved a multitude of chiseled specimens parading about in colorful regalia before flashing cameras. But enough about France’s World Cup victory, all eyes on the Versace Fall / Winter 2018 advertising campaign by Steven Meisel! Breaking early Saturday morning, the campaign features a cast of 54 models of which includes seven from across the Next global network: João Knorr (pictured), Cara Taylor, Hiandra Martinez, Ali Latif, Aube Jolicoeur, Skylar Penn, and Grace Elizabeth. The campaign extends the theme of The Versace Clans, which was first introduced in the corresponding runway show back in February. As clans go, they are legion. “My team doesn’t just extend to my work team,” explained designer Donatella Versace speaking with WWD. “The Versace Clans are made of all members of the Versace family — from customers to models, fans, photographers, stylists, friends, artists and all who believe that staying relevant means moving forward and making your voice heard — all who believe that fashion is not a way to just say ‘look at me’ but rather ‘look at me, I have something to say.’” Whether it Aube Jolicoeur or João Knorr, our models have something to say, which is why they help comprise The Versace Clans.
