Yesterday July, today August. Bridging these pivotal summer months over the last 24 hours was a trio of magazine covers, which flashed across screens the world over all bearing the likeness of Binx Walton. Anyone who has followed the distinguished career of Binx over the years knows there are no half measures with this model’s model. When Binx does anything, designers, editors, and admirers alike take notice. The last time Binx graced a cover it was for the Spring 2018 issue of i-D. This occasion, however sees Binx complete her first-ever single-issue hat-trick! The three covers by three different photographers including Juergen Teller (pictured), Talia Chetrit, and Charlotte Wales for the Autumn / Winter 2018 issue of POP are notable in an era when editors are all too given to signing over their covers to celebrities and their progeny. Binx is her own woman and as such could not make a finer subject over three, count them, three covers. Binx’s cover with Juergen Teller, with whom she has shot on countless occasions for Céline, cannot help but bring a smile to reader faces, not least for the England shirt she is shown wearing underneath a red puffer jacket. Published in London, that gesture on the heels of a memorable World Cup is sure to endear English readers all the more to the German photographer and American beauty. Over 650 pages, the latest issue of POP goes on newsstands later this month.
