Although Tudor England lasted only 118 years spanning the reigns of Henry VII to Elizabeth I, its influence can still be felt to this day. Vera Wang reportedly drew inspiration from the Tudors for her Fall 2018 collection, which at first blush could have been the American premium cable series of the same name. Whatever the provenance of the looks, there is an advertising campaign by Inez & Vinoodh meant to support its sales. Breaking last week, the cast includes sisters Lia Pavlova and Odette Pavlova (both pictured) photographed in sensuous black & white. Yes, there is also a bit of Madonna-Gaultier about this collection, which is fair enough. Madge’s cone bra by Jean Paul Gaultier after all only jutted into the world in 1990, but deserves a renewed reign courtesy of Vera Wang.
