Instead of rehashing more than 150 years of Marxist theory simply in order to crowbar in a tongue-in-cheek allusion to Das Kapital (1867) when trotting out this Italian Vogue story’s title, “Neo Bourgeoise,” praise will simply be heaped upon its star Karolin Wolter. There is just so much to love about Karolin in the August 2018 issue of Vogue Italia stood before photographer Karim Sadli and stylist Suzanne Koller. To start, this story comes with a touch of coquettishness. A wry smile here, wide eyed exclamation there, this editorial is altogether fun. Karolin is up for it too, just look at those eyes (pictured) as she is poised wearing a double-breasted alpaca coat by Balenciaga, finished with a vintage silk scarf by Comme des Garçons. All told, these half dozen pages are worth the price admission thanks to the labor contributed here by Karolin.
