The Federal Trade Commission back in April 2017 put influencers and brands on high alert with a simple reminder of their responsibility to disclose patronage on social media. Gone were the days when influencers could pass off elaborately staged and obscenely remunerated Intagram posts as if they were, pardon the expression, organic. Not that anyone born after 1990 ever maintained such a fanciful delusion, but the FCC meant business. Juicy Couture is taking no chances with its Fall 2018 advertising campaign by photographer Stas May, which comes with the FCC disclosure baked right into the creative. Enter Nisaa Pouncey, one of campaign’s stars, whose sultry gaze is the perfect the perfect foil for the cheeky bold type. Hailing from Atlanta, Georgia, Nisaa is unlikely to run afoul of any FCC policies with this campaign, which is just as well.
