What is civilization if not vigilance against the tyranny of noxious odors? Thanks to evolution, our distant ancestors developed the ability to capture airborne molecules, thus the dawn of smell! This ability conferred many advantages, all of which by 2024 will be at the foundation of a projected US$92 billion global fragrance industry. In other words, smelling good is a massive business, just ask Marjan Jonkman, she features in the new women’s fragrance campaign for Honeysuckle & Davana by Jo Malone London. Photographed by Tim Walker, this campaign ticks the requisite advertising boxes: beautiful model, flawless skin, floral arrangement, and of course the sexy product. Civilization writ large! As for the fragrance, its top note is artemisia, middle notes are rose and honeysuckle, and the base note is moss.
