BROOKLYN — It is a testament to the design and marketing nous of Ronnie Fieg that nary a gripe nor snipe could be heard about the staging of his third annual KITH PARK™ on the other side of the East River. The intensive migration of creative, affluent professionals to Brooklyn in the last 10 to 15 years has perhaps made the issue altogether settled. That certainly felt like much the case Thursday evening at Duggal Greenhouse nestled deep in the Navy Yard where Fieg unveiled this year’s four-part Kith line for Fall 2018 that included a signature capsule collection as well as three collaborations with Greg Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, and Versace. Branding and image are paramount in this much hyped streetwear luxury category and on the evidence Fieg succeeded on both counts. Bleacher seating on rails hastened the transition between four discreet sets for each of the capsule collections, which reached crescendo with Kith x Versace. Clout chasers and hypebeasts will surely savor the offerings as will the heritage designers involved eager to pad out their own street credibility with them. On the night Josie Canseco, Joshua Bering, Matthew McCabe, Cameron Porras, and Dylan Ravagnani all featured on the runway. Yerrr!
