PARIS — There comes a point during Fashion Month when a model’s debut season suddenly coalesces into something extraordinary. All indications suggest this moment is happening for Sara Eirud, who Wednesday afternoon opened the Dries Van Noten Spring / Summer 2019 runway show. In New York she walked for Raf Simons at Calvin Klein, in Milan for Fendi and Prada, and now in Paris for Dior and Saint Laurent. By no means is this a record breaking haul of appearances, nor does it have to be. On the contrary, this judicious selection bespeaks of even greater moments to come for the Swedish stunner. Joining Sara in the lineup were a further seven models from across the Next global network including Anok Yai, Manu Miloqui, Marina Perez, Marjan Jonkman, Katlin Aas, Tessa Bruinsma, and Lia Pavlova. As for the collection, the Belgian designer struck distinctive notes for spring. Canary yellows, emerald greens, sky blues, flashes of saffron signaled rebirth following an arduous winter. Life happens in the thaw, so too do careers emerge with the rising sun.
