PARIS — Back during the height of summer Karolin Wolter’s Givenchy Fall 2018 advertising campaign by Steven Meisel saw the light of day. Karolin’s relationship with the house under the creative direction of Clare Waight Keller strengthened ever more Sunday evening with her opening of the the Givenchy Spring / Summer 2019 runway show at Palais de Justice. Inside the historic halls of the 19th century Haussmann era building, Keller’s collection for spring went on a commanding march that would carried out by a lineup that including an additional nine models from across the Next global network including Anok Yai, Cara Taylor, Gena Malinin, Selena Forrest, Sara Eirud, Hiandra Martinez, Julie Hoomans, Tang He, and Kalib Besher. Militarism and the androgyny it typically engenders was transmitted flawlessly by Karolin who lead the line opening the prêt-à-porter show just as she did for couture in July. The short cropped hair she took on over a year ago at Calvin Klein has served her well just as she has Clare Waight Keller’s vision for Givenchy.
