It is anyone’s guess what readers in France will pick up this weekend for a leisurely read. Although the French spend on average two minutes a day reading books, according to a recently published survey of European Union households, there is no mention of the time spent reading newspapers. All of this of course leads to the news today that Grace Hartel appears on the cover of this weekend’s Madame Figaro, magazine supplement to the Saturday edition of the French daily newspaper Le Figaro. Photographed by Dominique Issermann, this beauty feature could not have chosen a more poised subject than the beautiful Grace. Notwithstanding that this page would take such an obvious position, it must be noted that the publication spared no wood pulp on the inclusion of this 18-page feature, which includes an interview with Grace. “Working with Dominique is for me a great chance, it’s both very inspiring and magical! Dominique has the gift of boosting me, to make me feel stronger.” The boost, the strength, both are evident in this feature, which is sure to be read this weekend in France, possibly even longer than books.
