NEW YORK — The City has many symbols, but none quite as welcoming as Lady Liberty or, Liberty Enlightening the World as it is formally known. Sunday night at the American Stock Exchange Building in Lower Manhattan a golden reproduction of the neoclassical sculpture’s hand and torch at the center of the expansive runway was deployed to enlighten assembled guests in ways only Versace can. The knowledge imparted on the runway hewed to the many of the classic stylings of the house founded by Donatella Versace’s late brother Gianni. This in-between seasonal showing also afforded the house a platform to demonstrate its commercial resonance since is announced acquisition by Michael Kors for $2.1 billion. The flex was in full effect with copious amounts of champagne flowing as the runway show transitioned into a full blown party. Attendees included some of TMZ’s favorite subjects. On the night a full starting XI featured in the lineup from Next including Binx Walton, Anok Yai, Lineisy Montero, João Knorr, Maria Miguel, Marjan Jonkman, Selena Forrest, Cara Taylor, Hiandra Martinez, Grace Elizabeth, and Alexis Chaparro.
