Burberry’s evolution under Riccardo Tisci continues apace with the release of a new collection produced in collaboration with Vivienne Westwood. This story was already news Thursday, but the casting of rising British model Claudia Lavender in the corresponding advertising campaign by David Sims means it continues to resonate a full day later. Readers of this page will no doubt recall Claudia from Tisci’s debut lineup in London back in September of this year. Proceeds of sales of this collection will be used to benefit the rainforest charity Cool Earth. “[Westwood] is a rebel, a punk and unrivaled in her unique representation of British style, which has inspired so many of us,” said Tisci in a statement released by Burberry. “I am so incredibly proud of what we will be creating together.” That Claudia has successfully navigated the often daunting channel from runway to advertising speaks volumes of her abilities in modeling.
