Truth is the world is grey. Sure, polarity proponents will argue it is all black and white, but these same people communicate almost exclusively in aphorisms. Actions speak louder than words after all. For a substantive take with aesthetic considerations on all things black and white, the January 2019 issue of Vanity Fair Italia is worth a look. Inside the issue there is a lingerie story titled, wait for it, “Blanco e Nero,” that stars Riley Montana photographed in black and white by Michael Schwartz. The beauty from Detroit does not disappoint, not even a little bit. Riley’s body is ridiculous any day of the week, but on this particular shoot day her physique was on an entirely different plane. Black, white, and mostly grey, Riley makes this bizarro world more intelligible.
