NEW YORK — Helmut Lang made a return to the Fashion Week schedule Monday evening courtesy of designers Mark Thomas and Thomas Cawson. Both have a keen eye for what has made this label such an enduring force in fashion despite its dormancy in the intervening decades since its peak in the 1990s. Shayne Oliver had a go at Helmut Lang in September 2017 and Monday night marked its reappearance on the runway, although under different under different auspices. All told, the collection was intelligibly conceived from the label’s established codes, brilliantly styled by Carlos Nazario, and executed on the runway from cast that included opener Cara Taylor, closer Selena Forrest, and further nine models from across the Next global network including Hiandra Martinez, Yuri Pleskun, Kalib Besher, Rio Thake, Lineisy Montero, Eniola Abioro, Erik Van Gils, Tessa Bruinsma, and Cole Mohr. Front of house attendees (featured here) included Selah and Tyler Blue Golden.
