Pride Month will mark a half century this June and the ramp up to this historical milestone is already underway. Vogue Deutsch Friday broke a trio of covers for its May 2019 issue, one of which features Erika Linder and her longtime love Heather Kemesky. Photographed by Claudia Knoepfel, the cover is the very embodiment of the issue’s theme, love. The transformation love has undergone in the decades since the Stonewall Riots in June of 1969 in New York have been nothing short of dramatic. This once heavily policed feeling of affection has been liberated and has been able to flourish out in the open, in public, and on newsstands the world over. This latest Vogue cover of Erika’s is but one of many beautiful manifestations of Pride to come this year and beyond.
