Apart from the birth of hip hop in the Bronx in the 1970s, it is difficult to imagine many more influential cultural phenomena than skateboarding. Its influence can be seen in everything from the way Billie Eilish dresses to literally the way Tyler Blue Golden descends a staircase. In a strictly fashion sense, though skateboarding has discernible cachet. The May 2019 issue of Vogue Paris celebrates the sport, albeit in pastel shades, in this Miss Vogue feature starring Grace Elizabeth photographed by Nathaniel Goldberg and styled by Géraldine Saglio. Oversize proportioning is crucial to skateboarding style in this feature. For example, Grace (pictured) wears an oversized denim jacket from Acne Studios over a cotton shirt from Ba&sh along with wide denim jeans by Lacoste. The cruiser Grace holds over her shoulder is of course by Santa Cruz. A VS Angel who skates…only in the page of Vogue Paris.
