Calvin Klein practically wrote the book on advertising. Added to the chapters on Brooke Shields or even the extensive application of decorative wooden paneling is an exciting new entry for Billie Eilish. The American singer songwriter stars in a new advertising campaign for Calvin Klein by photographer Mario Sorrenti that trades on the notion of truth telling. Truth in advertising? There is nothing deceptive about this campaign, it is meant to move units, and there is perhaps no one better placed to generate sales than Billie Eilish. Recall that Billie’s debut album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? entered the Billboard 200 at #1 when she was 17-years-old. Billie clearly connects with young people in a way that any marketer worth her salt could only dream. This latest Calvin Klein campaign is predicated on some of today’s most influential voices telling their own stories, using their own words. “I feel like [truth] is just being honest with yourself. Be truthful to yourself,” says Billie. Who could disagree? Not this page.
