“I’m going to be a billionaire, 100%. I know it. I knew I was gonna be a rapper. I knew I was gonna do this. I know that I’m gonna be a billionaire.” Born Octavian Oliver Godji, the 23-year-old rapper from London better known by his stage name Octavian dropped his debut album SPACEMAN late last year and not long after claimed top honor in the BBC Sound of 2019. The speed at which Octavian has made his ascendancy puts in perspective his billionaire designs. No one would put the feat past him nor does the latest issue of i-D, which features an editorial by photographer Oliver Hadlee-Pearch and stylist Carlos Nazario. The corresponding interview sheds further light on Octavian the man. “I’m Aquarius. It’s the most original, kooky, stubborn, pioneering star sign. But I’m half Capricorn, too… I’m on the cusp, so I’m like, half cult leader too?” Never mind the zodiac, though, the real star power is all Octavian’s.
