Any sailor within earshot of siren song would do well to clutch a ring buoy, otherwise death is almost certain should the irresistible tune sung by sirens, those half women, half bird creatures, be heard. Greek myth cautions as much and yet those tales from antiquity continue to beguile despite the doom they faithfully promise. The forthcoming June / July 2019 issue of WSJ. Magazine carries a couture story shot in the Bahamas starring Hiandra Martinez that is every bit as bewitching, but without all that mortality business. Just consider, the Dominican beauty (pictured) coming ashore in the opening pages wearing a sheer top and towering tiered skirt from Valentino Haute Couture. This is a most enticing sight, sustained over for a dozen or so pages, all of which is down Hiandra and, well, the creative team of photographer Dario Catellani and stylist George Cortina.
