“Sustainability is not a trend, it is a necessity.” Sobering insight like this from Vogue Brasil is not difficult to find, it is just a matter of locating credible sources on climate change. The latest issue of Brazilian Vogue happens not only to be one of these trusted voices it also happens to be the country’s only publication with Grace Elizabeth on both of its covers for June 2019. Photographed by Giampaolo Sgura, these covers featuring Grace (her 15th for Vogue worldwide) are for an issue that is carbon neutral, which means there is no net release of carbon dioxide during publication. This sustainable approach to printing in fact dates back to August of last year. Apart from production, the issue also champions sustainable fashion in a green label section. With temperatures and sea levels rising, there can be no retreat from sustainability any more than there can be from what is very evidently Grace Elizabeth’s global domination.
