Punk’s not dead! The spirt of 1981 endures for the cover of the August 2019 issue of Vogue Russia featuring none other than Cara Taylor photographed by Giampaolo Sgura. Although the cover is a far cry from the anthemic standard “Punk’s Not Dead” by a certain Edinburgh punk ensemble, The Exploited, it nevertheless is sure to satisfy readers everywhere. Wearing a leather dress by Bottega Veneta, Cara (pictured) gives the cover plenty of bite, snarl even. The corresponding cover story surveys the this season’s edgier offerings including everything from Saint Laurent to Louis Vuitton, Alexander McQueen to MaxMara. All told, it is just the sort of exercise to enliven these long summer days and whet appetites for the coming autumn. Punk’s not dead, I know it’s not!
