A month ago Vilma Sjöberg landed her first major advertising campaign for Saint Laurent by photographer Juergen Teller. Having made her runway debut last season as a Saint Laurent exclusive, the connection could not have made been more fitting. This week Vilma’s CV has swelled that much more with her first ever magazine cover, but not just any cover, she in fact has landed the September 2019 cover of Vogue Italia! Accompanying the cover portrait of Vilma wearing Prada by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott is text by American novelist and screenwriter Michael Cunningham. The text concerns a colorful exchange between dreaming and roses–for every dream, a rose of a particular color depending on the dream’s interpretation. The long and short of it is that the more the woman dreams, the more she is covered in roses. As metaphors go, Cunningham’s poetry is especially apt for Vilma, a young beauty whose career continues to flower.
